Silicon Prairie is one of the first state approved portals for equity crowdfunding in Minnesota and has also been approved for Federal crowdfunding campaigns. Founder David Duccini has referred to Drupal as his 'secret weapon' in his campaign to change the way startups raise capital, because of how Drupal allows him to keep nimble and iterate in response to client demands.
In this session we'll talk about a number of choices that we've made in building the Silicon Prairie site. We'll also accept suggestions from the audience on how we might do things better in the future.
Here are a few things we'll cover.
- Why we settled on Drupal for this project.
- Some of the key choices we've made along the way in terms of modules, workflow, and hosting.
- Our choice to use Domain Access to host multiple "white label" sites with custom domains all leveraging a single code base and database.
- What we've learned about behavioral testing and continuous integration - and what we are still hoping to learn.
- What we've learned from building a React Native app integrated with Drupal
This will be a team presentation, possibly including the client.
