So, you want to build websites? Oh, Drupal websites? You haven’t done this much before, right? How’d I know? Let me tell you…

We have all been there. Freshly out of school or new to the field. Just learning how to build (Drupal) websites. There is a lot to know to be successful. In school, we learn various technical skills, but applying those in the real-world is not always straightforward. In addition, soft skills are equally as important to being successful in this field and are often neglected.

As a developer that has been in the industry for almost a quarter of a century, I have accumulated a list of tips and tricks that have helped me be a successful developer and helped me grow my career from programmer to tech lead to architect to leading a Drupal practice.

In this talk, I will discuss what I have learned related to:
* Being a valued team member
* Partnering with clients (internal and external)
* Working efficiently and effectively
* Growing yourself as a developer
* Being an effective Drupal developer

Learning Objectives & Outcomes:

The focus of this talk will not be Drupal, per se. However, everything learned here will be able to be applied to your work as a Drupalist. The main learnings will be tips to becoming a more effective developer and ideas on how to grow your career.
